Christina Scabbia is the gorgeous, highly talented female vocalist from the amazing 6 piece goth rock Italian band, Lacuna Coil. Now I get very excited about this little fact because it relates to me in a big way...oh yes. Christina's birthday is on the 6th June...the same day as mine *grins* Yes yes...very specail bond we have haha! *ahem* Anyway...she is of course, Italian, which can acount for her beautiful black hair and wonderfully dark pale complection.
Sadly I don't know as much about Scabbia as I do about Amy Lee...possibly because of the sever lack of fan bases for Christina...not that I can find anyway, but I do know that I love her for her style, her voice, her amazing live performances and of course the wonderful lyrics and music produced by Lacuna Coil.
I have been priviliged enough to see Lacuna Coil last December which was one of the greatest experiences ever. Of course the whole event only increased my awe of Scabbia because of her amazing live performance, beautiful voice, amazing outfit and the wonderful show they put on, including sycronized headbanging which was majorly amazing.
Just in case anyone wants to know here is some information on Scabbia:
Her favorite bands include are Depeche Mode, Korn, Linkin Park and In Flames so apparently she has very good taste in music, which is always a good thing. Aswell as this she likes Silence Of The Lambs, Seven and Nightmare Before Christmas which is majorly fantastic.
Now here is another link between myself and the wonderous woman of melodic goth...her favorite colours are black, red and white. You can probably guess this as these are the colours she always wears, but not all at the same time. *phew* So these are just a few pointless and random facts about her that makes her even more of a fasinating person. Not that its entirely difficult to realise she is brilliant anyway.
Christina Scabbia is not only admired by me, but seems to be extremely popular among the metal world in general, being praised constantly by magazines such as Metal Hammer and Kerrang and being listed in several websites and reviews as one of the "Goth Queens" and has been said to be "one of the most beautiful and talented voices in metal today."
Christina is also very understanding and gracious. When asked about Evanescence being a "rip of Lacuna Coil" and whether this annoys her, she quite honestly says that she can't say anything negative about them and that she is not bitter at all since all success is good. So I love her for that :)
In an interview Scabbia said that if she were any animal she would be a unicorn (good choice sweetheart!)
When asked about breaking into the UK she replied that England is "more concerned with image" and since Coil are not an image based band she wasn't sure they would get anywhere! True about the image but we're not all that shallow..we love you for the music :D
Scabbia was voted 19th in a poll for Women In Rock being classed as "one of the leading ladies in metal" and being complemented for her "sultry image" and "heaps of talent and bags of attitude"

Christina is often described as one of the "hottest" females in rock, and I don't dispute this but we all know, and Christina will be the first to say it, that image is not everything and at the end of the day it is her voice, her style and her character that we love!
Everyone has to admit, Christina Scabbia is stylish, talented, beautiful and an extremely highly regarded artist. Lacuna Coil are one of the best metal bands around and no one can deny their popularity, nor Christina's admiration by thousands. If this woman isn't an idol then I don't know who is!
